The Organising Committee of the 8th International Conference on Energy and Environment of Residential Buildings is pleased to announce that ICEERB 2018 will be held at the University of Otago, Wellington, New Zealand over three days from 19 – 21 November, 2018. We are delighted that Hon Phil Twyford, Minister of Housing and Development, has kindly agree to open the conference.

This conference series was initiated in Sendai, Japan in 2000 and has played a significant role in the development of Energy and Environment of Residential Buildings. This is a well-attended conference attracting researchers, industry leaders and academics from Asia, Europe and North America. ICEERB 2018 will adopt an overarching theme of housing sustainability in urban areas.

The conference offers a programme that will not only facilitate exchange of exciting research and developments across a range of fields, but will also support and encourage dialogue with industry and government.

The five sub-themes of the conference are:

• Sustainable neighbourhoods

• Urban planning and regeneration

• Enhancing wellbeing through housing

• Indoor environment

• Energy in residential buildings
